The Jewish Historical Society of North Jersey holds its annual dinner on Sunday, May 18, at 4 p.m., at Temple Emanuel in Franklin Lakes.

Dr. Lawence and Rosalie Berman of Wyckoff will be honored for their lifetime of service to the Jewish community in Passaic and Bergen counties, including the Jewish Historical Society of North Jersey. An ad journal will be published in conjunction with the program.

He has been an officer on many boards, including Yavneh Academy, the Frisch School, Gerrard Berman Day School, Federation Endowment Foundation, Daughters of Miriam, and Paterson Jewish Senior Apartments.

Rosalie Berman was a teacher in New York and Massachusetts; she taught at the Yavneh Academy for 23 years. At Yavneh, she was president of the Parents Organization, a member of its board of education, and co-chair of the Teachers Association. She volunteered at the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey, where she served on the education committee and was a board member of the Circle of Partners. She is a member of the Glen Rock/Ridgewood Hadassah, a past president of Temple Emanuel, and served as president of the Jewish Community Organization in Wyckoff and the surrounding towns.
