On April 21, A Yom Ha’Atzmaut Experience — Freedom & Hope, a commemoration and celebration to mark Israel’s 78th birthday, Israel’s Remembrance Day, and America’s 250th anniversary, was held at Votee Park in Teaneck. Rabbi Chaim Strauchler of Teaneck’s Congregation Rinat Yisrael, created, orchestrated, and produced the innovative community program. More than 5,400 people registered to attend; it was hosted by Rinat, along with many local organizations and businesses, including the Jewish Standard. The entertainment included Chaim Kiss singing Avinu Malkeinu with Shlomo Lipman, representing the IDF.
