Lamdeinu offers summer study
Lamdeinu will offer opportunities for serious Torah study this summer, led by returning faculty members and new scholars. Classes will be related to topics about the Three Weeks.
On June 8, 15, and 22, Dean Rachel Friedman will focus on Yaakov’s wives and children in her interactive Parshanut haMikra series on Sefer Bereishit. Each class, for women only, is from 10:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The series combines guided chavruta learning with in-depth shiurim.
On Tuesdays, June 9 and 23, Rabbi Yitzchak Etshalom will present “Understanding the 3 Weeks” from 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. The class is open to all.
Rabbi Yitzchak Twersky will tackle “Journey Through Tanakh: After the Churban.” The series will meet on June 10, 17, and 24 from 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. The series is free and open to women and men.
On June 11, 18, and 25, Rabbi Gedalyah Berger will teach a women’s class, “Hilkhot Erev ve-Leil Shabbat,” from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Rabbi Daniel Fridman will follow with “Parashah and Haftarah Pointers” from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.; that class is open to all.
July programming will focus on themes of Churban and consolation. On July 6 from 10 to 11 a.m., Rabbi Hayyim Angel will teach “Yirmiyahu and the Hurban,” and on July 13, he will present “Iyyov: Addressing the Hole Created by the Torah.” The series is open to all. On July 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Lamdeinu welcomes Dr. Yael Ziegler, who will give a one-time shiur, “Eikha: Faith in a Turbulent World.” It’s open to all.
Rabbi Daniel Fridman’s weekly “Parashah and Haftarah Pointers,” open to all, will be held on July 2, 9, and 16 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
Lamdeinu’s summer schedule provides accessible, high-level Torah learning to women and men of all backgrounds, fostering a community of study and spiritual growth.
