Choosing Jewish — together

Choosing Jewish — together

There’s something powerful happening in northern New Jersey. Maybe you saw the billboard on Route 4, or maybe you’ve seen ads or social media reels, or maybe you got an email. You feel a sense of momentum — a recognition that at a time when the world feels uncertain, connection is our strongest response.

We are living in complicated times. Antisemitism is rising. Conversations about Israel can feel more fraught and emotional than ever. Many of us are asking difficult questions about identity, belonging, and what it means to live proudly and openly as Jews in 2025. But these challenges also present us with a choice — a choice to come together, to stand taller, and to embrace being Jewish even more deeply.

That’s what Jews for NJ is all about. It’s an invitation — and an inspiration — to choose Jewish.

Because let’s be honest: when it comes to volunteering, giving, or building community, we can do it anywhere. But when we choose to do it Jewishly, we’re strengthening something much bigger than ourselves. Every time we show up for a Jewish cause, send our kids to Jewish programs, support a Jewish organization, or simply celebrate a holiday with friends, we’re reinforcing the fabric that holds us together.

This is not a moment to pull back or recoil. It’s a moment to lean in — to our heritage, our values, our food, our traditions, and the deep sense of purpose that has sustained us for generations.

Northern New Jersey’s Jewish community is extraordinary. The opportunities to connect are endless — from vibrant synagogues and day schools to cultural programs, volunteer initiatives, and advocacy efforts that make a real difference. The question isn’t whether there’s something for you — it’s simply where you want to start.

That’s why Jews for NJ was created. It’s not prescriptive or exclusive. It’s a living, growing movement designed to make it easier for you to find your place in Jewish life, and in whatever way that feels authentic to you. It’s about celebrating all that we share as a community and discovering new ways to weave Jewish connection into everyday life.

So as we look ahead, let’s make a collective choice. Let’s choose to show up. Let’s choose to connect. Let’s choose to give, to volunteer, to celebrate — and most of all, to live Jewishly.

Because if we don’t choose Jewish, who will?

Now is the time. Join us at Jews for NJ — and be part of the movement that keeps our entire Jewish community thriving.
