Yavneh Academy class of 1960 reunites in Paramus
Fran and Dr. Richard Winters of Paramus hosted the 66th anniversary reunion of the Yavneh Academy of Paterson’s class of 1960. The meeting was at the Winters’ Paramus home on July 12.
Of the original 27 students, four have made aliyah and five have died.
Alumni went to Paramus not only from New Jersey and New York but also from Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. They are Dr. Sam Mann, Dr. Mark Lehrman, Rabbi Stephen Kossman, Dr. Richard Winters, Fran Mitchel Winters, Sharon Tosk Nachimson, Marilyn Shain Labendz, Sarah Wisnewski Bergman, Naomi Calka Miller, Harry Rapaport, Harriet Blechman Friedman and Marshall Scott.
Other alums joined the celebration on Zoom. They are Rabbi Jerry Unterman, Diane Resnikoff Field, and Esther Stobetsk Greenberg, all in Israel, Marc Goldman in Florida, and Ruth Rawicz Ottenheiner, in New Jersey. Another reunion will be planned for five years from now.
