Adam’s an Angel!
l The Long Angeles Angels selected catcher Adam Agresti, 21, a 6-foot-3-inch junior at St. John’s University in Queens, in the 11th round, # 319 overall, of the 2026 Major League Baseball draft. Adam, who proudly wears a star of David around his neck, is one of at least three Jewish players selected in that draft.
Adam, the son of Ellen Ruzinsky-Agresti and Joe Agresti, grew up in Westchester County and lives in Stamford, Conn. He became bar mitzvah at Temple Emanuel of the Pascack Valley in Woodcliff Lake, where his maternal grandparents, the late Enid and Ed Ruzinsky, were longtime members and active in the local Jewish community.
Adam’s brother Jason, 29, a catcher and left fielder, is now an Israeli citizen. He was one of two local athletes competing in the World Baseball Classic as part of Team Israel in March.
