Commemorating Juneteenth in Wayne

“Building Communities Without Violence,” a Juneteenth program, was held at the Wayne Public Library. Sponsored by the Rabbi Israel S. Dresner Library at Wayne’s Temple Beth Tikvah and the library, it celebrates Juneteenth and Rabbi Dresner’s goal — to make the world a better place.

The speakers included Dresner Center chair Arthur Barchenko, Wayne Library liaison Lynn Cooper, and Pastor Wayne Coleman of Paterson’s Madison Avenue Christian Reformed Church. Gospel singer Leon B. Moses was accompanied by keyboardist Ron Foster, who has performed with bands including Earth, Wind and Fire.
