Murray Greenberg
Murray Greenberg, 81, of Fair Lawn, NJ, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014 due to health complications. Born in Poland on February 5, 1933 to Shepard and Miriam, Murray immigrated to the Bronx with his parents and sisters, Pearl and Ann. Upon selling a gas station in Paterson, NJ that he co-owned with his brother-in-law Jack Green, Murray retired by working full-time at Benny’s Luncheonette in Fair Lawn, NJ, forming close friendships with colleagues and customers. Murray is survived by his son Mark, his daughter Rhonda, his daughter-in-law Missy, his future son-in-law Josh, and his sister Pearl Green.
Murray was a loving and devoted father, brother, and uncle. His pride in his children was unparalleled and unconditional. He constantly put the needs of others ahead of his own, and frequently donated to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We will always cherish his zest for life, generosity, humor, intelligence, storytelling, and heartwarming smile.
Murray was laid to rest at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Fairview, NJ. A funeral service and Shiva calls were held shortly after Murray’s passing.
