September 20 service for survivors and families

September 20 service for survivors and families

Stockton University’s Sara and Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center will hold a Mitzvah Zecher Avot service (good deed of remembering family)  at 11 a.m., on Sunday, September 20, at the Holocaust survivors section of the Rodef Sholom Cemetery in Egg Harbor Township. A Zoom option is available, and the names of Holocaust survivors will be read.

The free and open-to-the-public remembrance service is designed for Holocaust survivors and their families who represent the generations born after the Holocaust. As the number of survivors declines, the yearly tradition provides an opportunity to remember their contributions to both the Jewish and general communities.

RSVP is required to attend in person or for the Zoom link. Call the Holocaust Resource Center at (609) 652-4699 or email hrc@stockton.edu.

If the weather is inclement, the service will be held only on Zoom.
