Temple Emanu-El of Closter’s 94th annual “Celebration” will be held on Wednesday, May 18, at 6:30 p.m. The evening includes a strolling dinner, silent auction, and program to honor Warren Geller and Englewood Health for their outstanding service to the community.

Warren Geller is the president and CEO of Englewood Health, one of New Jersey’s leading hospitals and healthcare networks. Composed of Englewood Hospital, the Englewood Health Physician Network, and the Englewood Health Foundation, the health system delivers nationally recognized care in a community setting to residents of northern New Jersey, New York, and beyond.

Mr. Geller joined Englewood Health in 2009 and was appointed president and CEO in 2013. Under his leadership, patient volume and acuity, financial performance, and quality and safety outcomes all have improved. Mr. Geller has fostered positive community relations; modernized the hospital’s campus, facilities, and technology infrastructure; strengthened key clinical programs; expanded outpatient services; and developed an integrated physician network.

In recognition of these successes, Englewood Health has received many awards and honors over the last decade, including many “Top Hospital” awards from the Leapfrog Group. In 2020, Englewood Health was the only hospital in the nation to receive the “Pandemic Hero of the Year” award from Leapfrog, reflecting the organization’s commitment to patient safety and ensuring the health and well-being of its employees throughout the covid-19 crisis.

As Englewood Health loOks to brighter times after the pandemic, Mr. Geller is leading the continued expansion of the health system and investments in the communities of northern New Jersey. Among these are major expansions into Fair Lawn, Englewood Cliffs, and Jersey City.

Temple Emanu-El of Closter, led by Rabbi David-Seth Kirshner and Cantor Israel Singer, is one of the leading centers of Conservative Judaism in North America. Made up of nearly 800 families, the congregation offers a diverse range of programming and worship opportunities for people of all ages.
