Teaneck ‘Teen Idol’ contest on Saturday night
This year’s annual Teaneck Teen Idol, featuring talented teens singing for the prize, is set for Saturday, January 21, at 8 p.m., at Teaneck High School. It marks the event’s 10th anniversary.
“This is one of the best nights in Teaneck,” the contest emcee, Anthony Johnson, said. Mr. Johnson also is a reporter for ABC Channel 7’s “Eyewitness News.” “The teen talent is amazing,” he added.
The Teaneck Community Chorus created the competition to showcase Teaneck’s talented teens. It’s a place where contestants from public, private, and religious schools can meet in a supportive musical environment.
“This year, we have finalists from Barnstable Academy, Bergen Tech, Frisch School, Teaneck Community Charter School, and Teaneck High School,” Jack Aaker, the contest’s co-producer, said. “And we’ll have Olivia Reyes of Sacred Heart Academy and our current Teaneck Teen Idol performing as well.”
The evening will include a drawing for a one-month free membership at the Glenpointe Spa and Fitness. For information, go to www.teaneckcommunitychorus.org or call (201) 390-8683.
