Ben Mitnick of Mahwah, of HaZamir Bergen County, is among singers from 20 chapters of HaZamir: The International Jewish Teen Choir who will sing at a May 19 concert in solidarity with the city of Pittsburgh at Temple Sinai there. Matthew Lazar, the choir’s founder, is among the conductors.

The concert includes the music of Nurit Hirsh, who composed “Ba Shanah HaBa’ah” and “Oseh Shalom,” and the Pittsburgh premiere of two new works — Cantor Gerald Cohen’s “Pitchu Li” and HaZamir alumnus Samuel Rosner’s setting of an excerpt from David Ben-Gurion’s historic speech, “Banegev Yibachen.” The concert will showcase Jewish musical styles from across the globe and throughout history.

A live stream of the 3 p.m. concert can be heard at templesinaipgh.org.
