March concert to support families who find themselves in crisis
The Kaplen JCC on the Palisades in Tenafly will present its fifth annual tribute concert of Stephanie Prezant z”l, “Music She Loved,” on Saturday, March 4. Doors will open at 7:45 p.m. and the concert is at 8:15.
The evening, featuring prominent musicians and vocalists, celebrates Stephanie’s life through song and music. It features her brother, Jonathan Prezant, vocals and piano; her father, Jeffrey Prezant, with Udy Kashkash, guitar and vocals; Ronen Mikay, saxophone; Diane Honig, piano; Liat Tretin, and Ayelet Horn; and Daphne and Sharon Amir, vocals. Victor Lesser, musical director of Manhattan City Music directs.
Proceeds from the concert will support the newly established Stephanie I. Prezant Community Support Fund, which will help local families who find themselves in unexpected or sudden crises due to illness, loss of a loved one, or catastrophic changes in circumstance due natural disasters such as a hurricane or house fire.
Stephanie died in a rock climbing accident in 2012, one month before she would have graduated from the University of Delaware. The creation of this fund was inspired by her heartfelt dedication to helping others.
“This new fund in Stephanie’s memory exemplifies the qualities that were so important to Stephanie,” said her mother, Elana Prezant. “She lived her life connecting with people and trying to make a difference in the lives of the people she connected with, and this fund will be the realization of that desire.”
