JCC festival of arts, books, and culture
The JCC Rockland will begin its 10th anniversary Festival of Arts Books and Culture on Sunday, November 2, at 7:30 p.m. The opening night reception includes tapas and whiskey tasting and a discussion with Dr. Monty Helgott, who wrote “The Silence,” and Ira Judelson, author of “The Fixer: The Notorious Life of a Front-Page Bail Bondsman.” On November 6 at noon, a lunch and learn will focus on “Holocaust Heroism” with author Steven Pressman. At 7:30 that night, the HBO documentary “50 Children – The Rescue Mission of Mr. and Mrs. Kraus” will be shown. On November 8 at 7:30 p.m., the topic is “Fun for Foodies,” including an author presentation, cocktails, appetizers, a cooking demo, and Slovenia vodka tasting.
The series continues November 12, 16, 20, and 22, and December 6 and 14, with a Chanukah concert featuring the Macaroons.
