Charedi Israeli activist for women speaks at Tenafly JCC

Fainy Sukenik, founder of B’Asher Telchi, speaks at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades, on Friday, April 12 at 10 a.m. Ms. Sukenik, who was named one of the most influential women in Jerusalem this year, struggled to get out of an abusive marriage and then to survive in the charedi world as a young divorced mother. She was persistent; she not only survived but went on to found B’Asher Telchi, an organization that offers psychological, legal, and religious support to women fleeing bad marriages and rigid stigmas. Call (201) 569-7900 or JCCOTP.org.
