Chabad Center of Northwest NJ celebrates 37 years on June 26
The Chabad Center of Northwest NJ will celebrate its 37th anniversary at a gala dinner on Thursday, June 26, at the Crystal Plaza in Livingston. A buffet will begin at 5:30 p.m., and a celebratory dinner and program with entertainment will follow at 6:45. The guests of honor are Rabbi Chaim and Sara M. Brafman, Pillars of Tomorrow, on behalf of Rabbi Moshe and Rebbetzin Perel Herson o.b.m.; Robert Lefkowitz of Pondview Estates, Pillar of Kindness, and Bruce Buccolo of United Leasing Group the Ambassador of Light.
About 37 years ago, a small nucleus of pioneers engineered Chabad’s communal activities around a living room table. Over time it has grown into a multifaceted organization with eight community centers spread throughout the region. The evening, “Celebrating 37 Years of Going Beyond,” reflects the Chabad Center’s mission from day one: being there for everyone, regardless of affiliation or background.
“The achievements we have been blessed with are a direct result of the selfless efforts of outstanding individuals who have made the growth of our educational, charitable, and social programs an absolute priority in their lives,” Rabbi Asher Herson, the Chabad Center’s regional director,” said. “We also know that the maximization of past accomplishments is only realized when we regularly take them to a higher level, as the verse says: ‘From Strength to Strength.’ We pray that the energy and message of our 37th anniversary dinner will enhance the growth and vibrancy of our community programs to levels yet unseen. A special focus will be placed on the selfless and incredible lives of my revered parents, Rabbi Moshe and Rebbetzin Pearl Herson. They were the true founders and engines of our growing institutions.”
The Chabad Center of Northwest NJ serves the greater area with state-of-the-art facilities and a broad array of programs including a Jewish Community Center, Early Learning Center, Adult Education Institute, Youth Center, Mikvah and an energetic synagogue that holds services every morning and evening 365 days a year — the only institution offering three daily services in all of Morris, Sussex, and Warren counties. Eight additional community centers have also been established under the Chabad Center’s auspices, in diversified sections of Northwest NJ, to better serve local constituencies. The Chabad Center also provides chaplaincy services and conducts various programs in conjunction with local hospitals, police departments, school districts, and municipalities.
