Woodcliff Lake shul has new interim director

Michael Rogovin is Temple Emanuel of the Pascack Valley’s interim executive director. Before he came to the shul, he was the executive director of operations at Brooklyn College; before that, he was vice president of operations at New York Medical College, deputy to the dean of CUNY Law School, and chief of staff to the president of the City College of New York. He was legal counsel to the Queens Borough president and New York City’s independent budget office. Mr. Rogovin has degrees in engineering and policy and law.

Mr. Rogovin is active in many Jewish and civic organizations; he was president and de facto executive director of Teaneck’s Congregation Netivot Shalom of Teaneck. He chaired the Teaneck Environmental Commission and was founding chair of the town’s sustainability committee, which was responsible for the township’s certification by Sustainable Jersey as a green community.

Mr. Rogovin’s writing interests include a food blog focusing on vegan and cell-cultured foods and occasional blog posts in the Times of Israel. Other interests include cooking, folk guitar, and Israeli dance. He lives in Teaneck with his wife, Bonnie; they have two children, Ora and Adina.
