Last week, Woodcliff Lake’s mayor and council honored Holocaust survivor Erna Lowenstein of Woodcliff Lake, who was born in Germany in 1920. Her parents, brother, and sister were killed by the Nazis. She survived by working as a domestic in London during the war and came to the United States in 1946. Her daughter Helen Cantor lives in Paramus and was on hand for the presentation.
