Water, water everywhere…
In your May 27 issue, you published an article from the JTA wire service about a huge new desalination plant to be built in Israel. In this article it is mentioned that the plant “will desalinate about 150 cubic meters of water per year.”
I wonder if that is a typo and should read “per day” or “per hour,” as 150 cubic meters would not go very far in a country like Israel.
The editor responds: Several readers noted the discrepancy. We passed this message on to JTA, which reports that the correct measurement is 150 million cubic meters.
