Two agencies pair to help the hungry
The Jewish Family and Children’s Services of Northern New Jersey and Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark have partnered to help people who need food. Last summer, Michael Dworkis of JFCS and Maria Salerno of CCAN brainstormed ways to work together to help local families. CCAN is sharing its monthly donation of approximately 500 pounds of fresh produce and meat from Trader Joe’s and frequent donations from Goya Foods, while JFCS is contributing its bounty from Osem. That helps both groups to reach their common goal more effectively.
