The community responds…

I am deeply disturbed by your decision to stop printing same-sex wedding announcements. A rabbi in the community I (and many of my colleagues) was not consulted about this decision. Why did you only respond to the concerns of the Orthodox community and not the wider community who would also feel “pain and consternation” at your change of policy? Does one religious denomination control what gets printed or not printed in the community newspaper? What about freedom of the press? You should be ashamed for capitulating in this manner.
