The Valley Chabad Academy of Jewish Studies marks the 25th yahrzeit of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Shneerson z”l with a Shabbaton at Valley Chabad in Woodcliff Lake, June 28-29, led by Dr. Binyomin Abrams, Boston University’s newly appointed director of general chemistry. His humorous and thought-provoking talks blend Torah concepts with modern scientific principles. On Friday night, Dr. Abrams will discuss being raised in a non-observant family and what led him to become a Torah-observant Jew in a professional setting. On Saturday morning, he will talk about the journey of scientific and Torah exploration that bridged the gap between two conflicting worlds, dealing with fundamental questions of science and faith.
