Rockland walk and run event remembers Holocaust victims
The Holocaust Museum & Center for Tolerance and Education is hosting its inaugural “Run for The Six.” The community run and walk is set for Sunday, September 8, at 9:30 a.m., at the Rockland Community College track and field, 145 College Road in Suffern. Registration begins at 9.
Together, the group will walk six laps on the RCC track. Each lap will be dedicated to remembering one million of the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust. The run ends with a reception at the new museum, whose mission is to educate the community never to forget the Holocaust. With this in mind, the museum invites all those who are dedicated to undoing hatred and prejudice to be a part of the event.
Event proceeds will benefit meaningful social and educational programs for Holocaust survivors and school-aged children. Go to holocauststudies.org/runwalk.html.
