Registration open for RJFS special needs camp
Camp Kipanga is a summer camp program designed for children ages 5-10 who have been diagnosed with Asperger’s or a related social skills deficit. The program offers children with such issues the extra support they need to have a positive summer camp experience.
Camp Kipanga will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for 6 weeks Mondays through Fridays. The camp will take place from from July 8 through August 16 and offer swim instruction, art, science and discovery, yoga, theater, martial arts, athletics and cooking.
Camp Kipanga will be staffed with professionals who are trained to support children with social deficits, and campers will benefit from a smaller staff-to-child ratio. Swimming will take place at an indoor, Olympic-sized pool the Felix Festa Middle School in West Nyack. Instruction will be offered through under the direction of Condors Swimming, a competitive swim club in Rockland and Westchester counties.

In addition to regularly scheduled activities, campers will enjoy field trips each Friday as well as spirit days scheduled throughout the summer. Each child will also receive a camp T-shirt.
