Marking Juneteenth on Zoom

Congregation Sons of Israel, Nyack, marks the federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans, with a Zoom lecture. Rabbi Aryeh Bernstein of T’ruah will talk about the concept of reparations as a foundational concept in the core narrative and legal texts of Biblical and rabbinic Judaism, and Jewish communal support for reparations to the descendants of enslaved Africans that is rooted in our own texts, traditions, and history. 7 p.m. www.csinyack.org/rsvp-for-programs.
