Ma’ayanot Yeshiva High School for Girls holds its annual scholarship fund dinner on Saturday, March 4, at Congregation Keter Torah in Teaneck.

This year’s dinner is dedicated to the memory of Bruce Ritholtz. The school will present his wife, Michelle, and their children, Annie, Dani, and Talia, its Be’er Torah Memorial award. Suzanne Cohen will receive the Teacher of the Year award, the Amudei Ma’ayanot awardees are Lori and Elliot Linzer, and Diane and Rabbi Daniel Cohen will be honored as Parents of the Year.

The Be’er Torah award commemorates the impact that Bruce Ritholtz had on the Ma’ayanot community, by sitting on its board of trustees and executive board, and by serving as a driving force for the founding of the school’s development committee. To commemorate his exceptional devotion to Jewish education, Ma’ayanot also will name its Thursday evening mishmar program “The Bruce Ritholtz Mishmar Program.”

Suzanne Cohen has taught Tanach at Ma’ayanot since 2003. She also is the chair of the Tanach department and the school’s co-director of Israel guidance.

Lori and Elliot Linzer are dedicated to Jewish education and involved in all aspects of life at Ma’ayanot. Lori Linzer is a vice president on the school’s executive board, a member of the board of trustees, and has served on Ma’ayanot’s education and dean of students search committees. In addition to being strong financial supporters of the school, the Linzers have hosted many Ma’ayanot events, including Friday night onegs, parlor meetings, and the Ma’ayanot book club.

Diane and Rabbi Daniel Cohen are dedicated to the values of community, Jewish education, and personal development, as is shown in their work as senior rabbi and rebbetzin of Congregation Agudath Shalom in Stamford, Conn. They host shabbatonim and have served on educational panels.

All funds raised at the dinner will benefit Ma’ayanot’s scholarship program, which awarded more than $1.4 million to families in financial need this fiscal year.
