Ma’ayanot annual dinner is March 2

Ma’ayanot Yeshiva High School for Girls holds its annual scholarship fund dinner on Saturday, March 2, at Congregation Keter Torah in Teaneck, motzei Shabbat at 8:30 p.m.

Ma’ayanot parents, students, alumnae, and friends will gather to honor Justin Brasch and Juli Smith Brasch with the Keter Shem Tov award; Dr. Robert and Ofra Wind as the Amudei Ma’ayanot awardees; and Tamar Appel, who will receive the Faculty Recognition award.

Justin Brasch and Juli Smith Brasch dedicate their work to public service. Justin is a council member in White Plains, where he chairs the city’s youth bureau. Juli is a commissioner of the White Plains Housing Authority. At Ma’ayanot, Juli has been a parent liaison for the White Plains bus route and Justin is a member of the capital campaign committee. They have three children; two of them commute from White Plains daily to attend Ma’ayanot.

Dr. Robert and Ofra Wind have been active school volunteers. Robert has been a member of the board since 2012, co-chaired the security committee, and served on the open house and annual dinner committees. Ofra has been on many committees, including the annual dinner, Middle States Accreditation, graduation, and parent ambassador, and she was a parent council volunteer. She has served on the parent panel at Ma’ayanot’s open house for many years. They have four children and one grandchild.

Tamar Appel joined Ma’ayanot’s faculty in 2004. She has been associate principal, teacher of Hebrew, history, and Jewish history and philosophy, and chaired the history, Jewish history, and Jewish philosophy departments.
