Local artist exhibiting in libraries

Jeanne Buesser of Paramus is exhibiting her artwork at the Hillsdale Library in June and July, at the Waldwick Library in September and October, and at the Hawthorne Library in November and December. Her works were displayed earlier this year at the Glen Rock Library. She will be at a meet-the-artist reception at the Hillsdale library on July 16 from 2 to 4 p.m..

When Ms. Buesser’s sons were young, they were a part of the Friendship Circle in Paramus. One son, who has apraxia, became a bar mitzvah at Temple Avodat Shalom in River Edge. That inspired Ms. Buesser to have a bat mitzvah ceremony there and to include her youngest son, who has autism. The ceremony also was dedicated to the memory of her oldest son, who died of cancer when he was 3. She created paintings, including the one shown here, in honor of the bar and bat mitzvah service they shared. For more information, go to jeannebuesser.com.
