Learn about your Jewish genes
Beginning on June 4, the Jewish Federation and Foundation of Rockland County’s adult education department will offer a four-week course on the basics of Jewish genealogy. The course, which will meet on Wednesdays, will be given by Harriet Grossman Teplitzky. She hopes to debunk some of the myths that have grown up about the difficulty in learning family history in the wake of the Holocaust. Discussions will touch on family trees, vital records, census data, passenger ship lists, and birth, marriage, and death certificates. Tuition for the course is $80. To register, email adulteducation@jewishrockland.org.
