Lauds new appointee - The Jewish Standard

When I first heard the news that Danny Jaye was leaving the Bergen Academies to become director of academic affairs at Solomon Schechter Day School in New Milford (May 21), I had very mixed emotions. I was saddened and disappointed for the Academies, while excited and encouraged for Schechter. My three children all went through Schechter – my sons graduating in 2005 and 2007 and my daughter still there in the sixth grade. Both of my sons went on to the Academies, my older son graduating in 2009 (he has just finished his freshman year at Brandeis) and my younger son still there in 11th grade.

Each academic year, I am asked about 50 times if I feel that Schechter prepared my sons for the Academies. Each time, my answer is a very emphatic yes.

Danny Jaye is a creative, innovative, and resourceful educator and I know he will take an already outstanding school to the next level of academic excellence.
