JESPY House’s annual fundraiser this year is “Battle of the Chefs: A Benefit for JESPY House.” It’s an evening of food, fun, and support, set for Thursday, June 23, at 6 p.m., at the Orange Lawn Tennis Club in South Orange.

The party will raise essential funds to support JESPY clients, while honoring the Cottingham, Oppenheimer, and Plotnick families. JESPY assists 260 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through a variety of support services.

The Battle of the Chefs will feature chefs Tony Villanueva and Ivan Villanueva. The two men are not related, but Tony began mentoring Ivan more than 15 years ago. They two will come together for a head-to-head competition.

Ivan Villanueva started his career as executive sous chef under the guidance of Chef Tony Villanueva in 2010. He was named the executive chef at Orange Lawn Tennis Club in 2020. Chef Tony Villanueva has been the executive chef at Edgewood Country Club since 2015. In 2020, he was promoted to WS Hospitality Group executive chef at Edgewood.

The Battle of the Chefs evening also will include a silent auction with proceeds supporting JESPY’s whole-life programs and services.
