Happy birthday, Mr. President - The Jewish Standard

Last week, dignitaries from all over the world descended on Israel to wish a happy 90th birthday to its president, Shimon Peres. Former United States President Bill Clinton was there. The singer Barbra Streisand chose Tel Aviv as the final venue of her world tour in order to sing at the private birthday bash for 3,000. Robert DeNiro came to Israel to offer his personal best wishes.

Peres is one of the most respected world leaders, and he is the oldest as well. We wish him a yom huledet sameach – a happy birthday – and add the traditional ad meah v’esrim – until 120.
