On Saturday, Torah study, both in person and on Zoom, is at 9 a.m.; Dr. Rendsburg will discuss “How to Read the Bible: The Story of Jacob and Rachel.” Email smercado@emeth.org for the Zoom link. There will be bagels and spreads. A Shabbat rosh chodesh service, both in person and livestreamed, begins at 10:30. After lunch, at 1:15 p.m., Dr. Rendsburg’s in-person talk will be “From Cordoba to Cardamon: The World of the Cairo Geniza.”
On Sunday, at 11 a.m., after brunch, his last lecture, given in person, will be “England as the Custodian of the Jewish Past.”
The Rabbi Louis J. Sigel Scholar-in-Residence program is in memory of Temple Emeth’s rabbi of more than 30 years. The lectures and study sessions are free, and no reservations are needed. There is a fee for some of the meals. Reservations for the meals must be made by April 10.
