Federation spreads its Period Poverty program to Jersey City

The Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey donated 10,000 period products and 21 dispensers to Jersey City schools as part of its Period Poverty program. Period poverty is the inability to access or afford menstrual hygiene products.
Lindsey Lax was the leader of the federation’s Period Poverty Program, which works to help “change the cycle.” The initiative’s goal is to increase awareness, collect period products, and provide the necessary funds to buy dispensers for schools that need them.
