Becky Troodler is Areyvut honoree

Becky Troodler of Teaneck will receive Areyvut’s Community Leadership award on Sunday, April 26, at Areyvut’s annual breakfast, held at Congregation Bnai Yeshurun in Teaneck at 9:30 a.m. Matthew and Jessica Lish of Queens, NY, will receive the Young Leadership award at the breakfast.
Ms. Troodler’s teaching and administrative background spans early childhood, elementary, and middle school. She has been at Yeshivat Noam for eight years, since the school’s second year of existence, where she is now its middle school’s assistant principal of general studies.
Areyvut is a nonprofit organization that offers Jewish day schools, synagogues, community centers, and families opportunities to empower and enrich their children’s lives with innovative community service programs.
Areyvut works closely with Yeshivat Noam’s middle school, running H.O.P.E. (Helping Organizations Provide Essentials), a teen philanthropy program that teaches participants what it means to be on the board of an organization. H.O.P.E. participants learn leadership skills, gain knowledge of various agencies within their community, and fund communal agencies.
Yeshivat Noam also hosts an annual b’nei mitzvah chessed fair that introduces students to an assortment of volunteer opportunities within their communities, including Areyvut.
According to Areyvut’s founder and director, Daniel Rothner, “We are thrilled to be giving Becky the Community Leadership award that acknowledges the impact she has made on her students, the Yeshivat Noam community, Areyvut, and the Jewish community at large.”
