‘Very special human beings’
It was a joy to read Miryam Z. Wahrman’s and Abigail Klein Leichman’s April 23 articles about doctors helping in Haiti.
Drs. Howard Zucker and Joshua Hyman and the Medishare and Israeli physicians are very special human beings, giving their time and expertise to the thousands of children in need of medical attention in Haiti.
These good doctors in their selfless involvement with the children in Haiti are models for the kind of people we most need and appreciate. I find their sense of responsibility in caring for the children in Haiti without expecting anything in return to be one of the finest things human beings can do for others. Their deep reverence for life leaves an indelible and significant mark upon the world.

Given the human suffering in this tragedy-stricken country ravaged by an earthquake, the work needs to be continued.
All the best to Dr. Joshua Hyman and his wife on their twins’ upcoming bar and bat mitzvahs to be celebrated in Israel and to his two younger daughters who were adopted from China. What special people – they add special meaning to life.
