Thank you for your Jan. 15 editorial “Gay marriage ban a slippery slope.” Quite apart from discrimination issues, I have never understood why or how the marriages of our gay friends, colleagues, or relatives are going to hurt anyone’s non-gay marriage. On the contrary, it seems to me that allowing these couples to marry – couples who, like the rest of us, are just trying to live their lives, raise their children, and pay their taxes – will strengthen the institution of marriage, not weaken it.
