Suffern student receives doctorate during JTS graduation ceremonies

Nehama Rose Benmosche of Suffern was among the graduates at the Jewish Theological Seminary’s 124th commencement ceremony; she received a Ph.D. from the William Davidson Graduate School of Jewish Education.

JTS Chancellor Arnold M. Eisen gave the commencement address. Honorary degrees
also were presented to innovative leaders including Tovah Feldshuh, the actress and performer; Rabbi Rachel Cowan, an innovator in the field of Jewish spirituality; Felice Gaer of Paramus, director of the AJC’s Blaustein Institute for the Advancement of Human Rights; and Dr. Jonathan D. Sarna, the Joseph H. and Belle R. Braun professor of American Jewish history at Brandeis.
