Series on antisemitism for Jewish women to start in NYC
On July 21, Jewish Women International will launch “Jewish Women in the Workplace: Navigating Identity, Ambition & Belonging.” The New York City workshop series is for Jewish women navigating antisemitism in professional life, and particularly relevant to women across the New York metro area.
Created in response to findings from JWI’s recent national survey, the three-part series is designed to help Jewish women navigate antisemitism in the workplace with confidence and community. The survey found that 39% of employed young Jewish women felt pressure to minimize their Jewish identity at work, and 32% requested workplace resources to address antisemitism, identity-based bias, and belonging. The series also includes a mentorship component, connecting young professionals with women further along in their careers.
The first workshop, “Show Up: Bringing Your Full Self to Work,” is on July 21 at Akin in Bryant Park and includes a workshop and networking reception. The targeted audience is young Jewish women in their 20s and 30s; women further along in their careers who serve as mentors. For information, go to www.jwi.org/calendar/jwiw-workshop1.
