Rockland high school seniors win NCJW awards

The National Council of Jewish Women Rockland Section honored five Rockland County high school students with Community Service awards. The honorees showed commitment and dedication to improving lives for others through their community service projects and exemplified the selection criteria of ongoing voluntary service and supervisor recommendations.

In recognition, each winner received a $1,000 scholarship and an award certificate from NCJW Rockland. Karen Sherman from NCJW chairs the selection committee which annually grants the awards to foster continuing higher education and the spirit of volunteerism.

This year’s award winners include Laura Bialek, Clarkstown North High School, who will be attending the University of Pennsylvania; Riley Craig, Pearl River High School, who will be studying at Monmouth College; Noa Epstein, Clarkstown North High School, who is going to the University of Florida; Gianna Pelliccio, Nanuet Senior High School, heading to Quinnipiac University; and Eagle Scout Logan Solomon, who will be attending Elon University.
