Passaic Torah Institute expanding in the new year
To celebrate the Young Professionals Program of Passaic Torah Institute’s (Yeshiva Ner Boruch-PTI) expansion in the new year, a gala is planned on September 26, at 7:30 p.m. About 200 young professional men and career mentors will be matched together for a giant learning program at PTI, 441 Passaic Ave., in Passaic. The Jewish Standard and New Jersey Jewish News are among the media sponsors of the event and are joined by many co-sponsors.
“The whole community and many organizations and businesses have come together to give the next generation a jump start on their careers and spiritual growth,” said Rabbi Baruch Bodenheim, PTI’s associate rosh yeshiva, “just in time for Elul.”
There will be a dinner catered by Carved by Wolf, live music by R’ Moshe Auslander & Chacham Isaac Jamal, dancing, and a keynote speaker. Young professionals can kickstart their careers and participate in Jewish learning with their mentors.
The gala will raise funds to double the number of Young Professionals in the program. It will expand the schedule to a full week from its current three-day schedule. The funds aim to hire another full-time rabbi, in addition to PTI’s 20 faculty and kollel fellows.
“It’s going to be so inspiring, just awesome,” according to Ben Rand, coordinator of the Young Professionals program. “Our first year has grown so fast in the wake of October 7, so many people came here looking for a deeper understanding of their Judaism.”
PTI has five levels of classes for men and women, from the complete beginner with no background to the most advanced kollel scholar.
