Kill Hitler?

Kill Hitler?

Were you blown away by the action sequences in “Kill Bill”? Perhaps you’ve always thought, “Wouldn’t it be great if Quentin Tarantino made a movie about the Holocaust?” Well, your wish has been granted.

Ha’aretz reported today that the genius filmmaker is working on just such a movie called “Inglorious Bastards,” the name of a revenge squad led by Brad Pitt that goes around hanging, torturing, disemboweling, and scalping German soldiers. In other words, it’s a feel-good movie for the entire family.

As you may be able to guess, The Big Lipowsky is a big Tarantino fan. While the violence in “Kill Bill Vol. 1” was more cartoonish (what with more blood gushing from open wounds than the human body contains) I’m expecting this one to be a bit more realistic and more along the lines of “Pulp Fiction.” Of course, historians are already grumbling about the treatment Tarantino plans to give the subject matter. According to Ha’aretz:

“It is sort of a spaghetti western set in World War II,” Tarantino told the German News Agency DPA. “I am not going to call it this, but if it had a subtitle for it, it would be called, ‘Once Upon a Time in Nazi-Occupied France.'”

The Big Lipowsky will provide updates on this project as he learns more (and hopefully finds a copy of that leaked script).

And for the “Pulp Fiction fans” out there, The Big Lipowsky dug up a special treat. A few years ago, McDonald’s in Israel unveiled the McShwarma. The Big Lipowsky never had the opportunity to try it as it did not last long on the menu, but the curiosity did spawn one of the greatest TV commercials ever.
