The New Jersey Jewish Business Alliance held an interactive collaborative meeting with the law enforcement community in preparation for the High Holidays on September 24 at Hudson Regional Hospital in Secaucus. Representatives from various agencies came together to enhance communication and understanding between law enforcement and the Jewish community.

Philip R. Sellinger, the U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, spoke about the significance of law enforcement interactions with diverse communities. Louis Nock, a New York Supreme Court Justice who also is a Coast Guard chaplain, talked about the importance of community engagement.

The meeting, coordinated annually by the NJJBA in conjunction with the Hudson County Hatzolah and the National Chaplains Association, aims to foster better relationships and cooperation among different agencies and community members. It included a presentation on the High Holidays, detailing specific customs and practices for law enforcement to be aware of.

Representatives from the FBI, New Jersey State Police, New Jersey Transit Police, Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Sheriff’s offices of Union, Somerset, Hudson, and Essex counties, among others, were at the meeting.
