Hackensack program to honor Lubavitcher rebbe’s yahrzeit
Chabad of Hackensack will mark the 30th yahrzeit of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson at a program celebrating his vision and legacy on July 8. Doors will open at 7 p.m. for the 7:30 program.
Dr. David Luchins, chair of Touro University’s political science department and founding dean of the Lander College for Women — The Anna Ruth and Mark Hasten School, will give the keynote address, “The Rebbe’s Impact: From Global Politics to Hungry Children in Harlem.” Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) will deliver a message, via video, “Why I Study the Rebbe’s Teachings Every Week.” Dr. Ken Prager of Englewood, professor of clinical medicine, director of clinical ethics, and chair of the medical ethics committee at Columbia University Medical Center, will discuss his undercover mission to the former Soviet Union on behalf of the rebbe and Chabad. Miriam Feman, head shomeret at the Teaneck mikvah, will tell her story of how the rebbe rescued her and 3,000 other children from the 1979 revolution in Iran through Operation Exodus.
