The Waltuch Art Gallery at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades in Tenafly presents “Aging and Creativity,” an exhibition of artwork by senior adults who go to the Club, a new social group for older people that is connected with the JCC’s Kaplen Adult Reach Center. The show will be on display through June 29, with a meet-the-artist-reception on Sunday, June 3, from 1 to 3 p.m.

This exhibit, for young and old, features paintings, photographs, prints, mosaics, fiber arts, crafts, and other imaginative works created by Club participants. The program’s goal is to foster personal growth and individualism and give participants a sense of purpose. They garden, exercise, reminisce, and dance, and then settle in to create works of art. In many cases, they work collaboratively. A mentor from the Metropolitan Museum of Art makes monthly visits to spark everyone’s creativity.
