Dispatches from the Pearl Foundation

The newsletter of the Daniel Pearl Foundation popped into my e-mail box today.

We at the Standard have always been moved by the plight of the young Wall Street Journal reporter, brutally murdered after being forced (apparently) to declare that he was a Jew.

The foundation created by his brave family and friends is a breathtaking inspiration. They have set in motion fellowships, concerts, journalist exchanges, discussions, and lectures. All of these pay tribute to what seems to have been a very special soul – and at the same time foster good will in the world (which, heaven knows, can use it).

To read the newsletter, go to newsletter@danielpearl.org. You’ll also see some photos of the Pearl family, including Daniel Pearl’s son Adam, born after his father’s death.
