Born in the USA, joining the IDF today
Watch young people from all over the world join Israel's army.
It takes new immigrants to any country years to get accustomed to their new lives. Israelis know how challenging that adjustment can be – and how it can be even more challenging for new immigrants when they begin their stint in the Israel Defense Forces. That’s why a new program just for olim (immigrants to Israel) doing their army service has opened to help these young people fit in.
Hebrew-speaking immigrants who enlist within ten years of their arrival in Israel can join the program.
At the end of the year, the soldiers present skits where they wear the costumes (or parodies of the costumes) and tell the stories of their native countries.
Background music: Ehud Banai.
