Women’s Philanthropy, a division of the Jewish Federation & Foundation of Rockland County, will host its annual spring outreach event at the Rockleigh Country Club on Thursday, May 17. This year, it will feature movie producer and philanthropist Nancy Spielberg.

Nancy Spielberg is an award-winning writer and producer of Jewish and Israel-themed documentaries and feature films. Most recently, she produced “Above and Beyond,” winner of the audience award at more than 20 film festivals. Ms. Spielberg is the executive producer of Sophie Sartain’s documentary “Mimi and Dona,” which was broadcast nationally on PBS in 2015. She is also the executive producer of “Who Will Write Our History,” the story of the buried archive from the Warsaw Ghetto, and of “On the Map,” a documentary by filmmaker Dani Menkin.

According to the evening’s co-chair, Carol Schiller, “Federation’s mission includes education about the State of Israel. We are very excited that Nancy Spielberg will be our Women’s Philanthropy guest this year as we celebrate Israel’s 70th anniversary.” Her co-chair, Bonnie Werk, added “Philanthropy and education have always been cornerstones of Jewish culture. Women’s Philanthropy is today’s modern expression of ancient values, which have never been as important as they are today. That’s why the Jewish Federation & Foundation of Rockland County has this outreach event each year and I’m so proud to be a part of it.”

The evening begins with a VIP meet-and-greet at 6; attendees can have their pictures taken with Ms. Spielberg. The buffet dinner, auction, and program begin at 7. For more information or to buy tickets, go to jewishrockland.org/womensgala before the May 10 deadline.
