Arts & crafts fair in Ulster County
The juried Woodstock-New Paltz Art & Crafts Fair, which features fine art, crafts, handcrafted specialty foods, live entertainment, and more, will be held over the Memorial Day weekend at the Ulster County Fairgrounds. The fair, now in its 37th year, supports handcrafts, bringing artisans together with the public.
This year brings award-winning jewelers, ceramic artists, photographers, woodworkers, fiber artists, and hundreds of other exceptional artisans and makers. Featured demonstrations include hammock-making by Twin Oaks Hammocks, wood-turning by VJB Creations, and Chinese brush painting by Zhong-hua Lu. The handcrafted specialty foods exhibit includes coffee brewing by North River Roasters, treats from the nationally recognized chocolatier Oliver Kita, craft beer by BarStream, and regional wine from select Hudson Valley wineries.
Quail Hollow Events aims to entertain and inspire creativity in visitors of all tastes and ages. Its co-director, Ola Rubinstein, said, “children will enjoy interactive musical performances, a magic show, and a complimentary supervised art and crafts tent — where they are free to work with a wide range of media and indulge in open-ended creativity — all while their parents sip on craft beer and wine, shop rows of one-of-a-kind offerings, and listen to live music by the region’s best musical artists.”
