Artist exhibiting in Englewood
The Englewood public library is exhibiting prints by artist Josh Teplow of Teaneck that celebrate Jewish themes; the exhibit will be up until September 30. The prints are Jewish-themed playing cards; when the project is finished, the 54-card deck will be sold as a limited edition.
The artist’s work shows plant forms as a metaphor for his life journey. Plants begin as simple living systems but quickly mature and become quite complex in their structure, he said. Mr. Teplow’s work attempts to create an understanding between painter and audience about the complexity of life and how to overcome challenges and ultimately to flourish. His paintings can be seen at www.joshteplowart.com; his prints are at www.jewishplayingcards.com.
